Principal’s welcome

Herberton State School P-10 has been proudly educating the children of Herberton and surrounding areas since 1882.

At Herberton State School P-10 we believe that all our students are capable of learning and that our role is to work with each student and their parents/carers to discover how to best meet their academic and social/emotional learning needs. We achieve excellent results by knowing our students and caring for their individual needs.

We are open in our communication with parents and carers and welcome input from our community. We are always endeavouring to improve this communication as we know it is in the best interest of our students.
Many parents have indicated they believe in this school and are proud of the teachers and staff.  They appreciate the level of care we have for their child and the interest we have in their learning. All of the teachers are passionate about education and want the best for every child, not just the children in their class. At Herberton State School P-10 we are here for the students.

The staff may be brilliant, and the school may have every resource known to mankind, but if we don't have meaningful relationships with parents and the community then our children will not learn to the best of their ability.

For Herberton State School P-10  to continue to provide quality education for our students we need to continue to grow our school. We need to foster an environment where everyone is relaxed and comfortable. Herberton State School P-10 needs to be a place where children and teachers want to be, where there is lots of laughter and where a love of learning is fostered.
We have been caring for the children of Herberton for over 130 years. We do it well and we will continue to do it well.

 From the Principal

 We create an environment
based on three rules of:
  • Be Safe
  • Be Respectful
  • Be a Learner

We actively work with our students so they understand what these rules mean and how they apply to them at school.
