Herberton State School 1912

Herberton State School 1912

In 2012 Herberton State School Secondary Department celebrated 100 years of Secondary education in Herberton and Queensland all over.

Herberton State School Secondary Department is the oldest surviving Secondary Department in Queensland.

The celebrations were held on the 23 November 2012 where past Principals, staff and students came together and participated in such activities as 'The ghosts of pupils and peoples past', Centenary Ball, Sports Day at Wondecla Oval and the official opening where there were displays and photos of times past. There was much reminiscing and reunions forged at this school over the years. The history and traditions of a great school were revisited in the ‘Village in the hills.’
